Askia sits on the floor of a futuristic hallway with his head resting against his knees. Joanne exits out of a door of a busy room. The door automatically shuts behind her. She leans against the wall before sliding down to sit next to Askia. He doesn't move.
JOANNE
I know you are anxious right now, but I know you are going to do great.
Askia lifts his head up to look at Joanne. He leans his back against the wall and lowers his knees.
ASKIA
That's not what I am worried about.
JOANNE
What is it then?
ASKIA
I just don't want to do this. I always hoped I would never be chosen.
JOANNE
Don't you want to know what it's like? You are going to Earth, not everyone gets to do that.
ASKIA
Not Really. I would rather stay here. Just keep normal job and live my life like I always have.
JOANNE
I would love to go.
ASKIA
Why don't you volunteer for me?
JOANNE
I would in a heartbeat. But you know that's not how it works. Why didn't you talk to me about this?
Askia sits silently with his head resting against the wall.
